Ashleigh and John's Intimate Backyard Wedding in Salem, Ohio

Ashleigh and John’s intimate back yard wedding was everything you could image it to be. Simple, special, and full of all of the love they have for each other. Their family and friends love them so much, you could feel it. We were driving to the property and it was down a back country road, near Salem, Ohio. Corn fields lines the sides of the roads and nothing but open skies. Their wedding ceremony and reception took place on Ashleigh’s parents property where she grew up. They have an apple orchard off to the side and that's where they decided to have the ceremony, there are loads of greenery and apple trees that line the area where they would be married. It was truly magical.

John and Ashleigh decided to have a first look, and I’m so glad they did! We had so much time to take portraits and they got to spend cocktail hour with their guests. They had a bar on wheels which was so cool! 10/10 recommend. The tented reception was filled with tables lined with greenery and lit with twinkle lights and lanterns. I feel like that’s the stuff dreams are made of. We snuck out for some photos right before the rain came, and no lie, they are some of my favorite photos i’ve ever taken. The reception was light hearted, emotional at times, and then straight PARTY time. We shoot a lot of weddings, but there’s something special about a backyard wedding that I just love.
